Panoramic Beach Photography, Scenic and Beach Panoramics.

Panoramic photos can be a challenge for most photographers; even with the latest software it still takes a great amount of skill. Panoramas are used widely throughout all industries, from property and surveying to advertising, beach panoramics to scenic photos and just creating amazing panoramas.

There are a few different ways of taking panoramas. One way is to set up your tripod and take a series of photos and then manually stitch them together using programs like Photoshop. This is the most commonly used way of taking panoramas, however there are panoramic cameras which will take a panorama with a single shot. These are fairly specialist cameras.

Beaches are a particularly good place to practice your panoramic photography, especially wide open bays like Woolacombe bay. Taking photos of places like this cannot be done with a single shot simply because the beach is too wide. So taking a series of shots is the only way to get everything in shot with out distorting the horizon. To take an outstanding panoramic beach photo you want to be set up roughly in the middle of the beach, try to get on to the higher ground, e.g. sand dunes or a sea wall anything to elevate you. When actually taking the series of shots you want to make sure that you overlap about 10% of each photo, preferably using some type of landmark. This will make it easier when it comes to stitching them together.

Take each of the beach photographs and open them in Photoshop or another relevant program, and then open a new document. Drop each of the beach photos onto the new document and start lining them up. You can then use the eraser tool and/or clone stamp tool to help merge each of the photos. Hopefully, after a little bit of fiddling about you should have created a picture of the beach.

It doesn’t have to be a beach, panoramas can be used in any environment to create incredible scenic photos and are particularly good advertising tools simply because they can present more in the image.
